Challenge
This office renovation project, which consisted of six phases, each approximately 2-4 months duration, had to be completed in an occupied practicing law firm. Selected furniture items were imported from Europe and had to go through multiple obstacles for logistics and schedule, including U.S. Customs requirements, integration of shipping and storage, contractor coordination and construction staging areas for installation, in order to stay on schedule.
Success
Northstar led the project team, which was composed of the end users, contractor and overseas vendor, to successfully (1) identify the best phasing plan during design, (2) assist with the coordination of the imported furniture, and (3) identify an optimal phasing plan for construction parameters, while simultaneously allowing sufficient space for the end users to conduct regular daily business operations.
