Challenge

There were multiple clinical and support department coordination and schedules, including NICU, Pediatrics, Intermediate Care, Pharmacy, and Housekeeping. In addition, there were specialized equipment requirements and density, along with ensuring that user clinical integration needs were met. This project required constant review of equipment elevations, specification sheets and infrastructure, to ensure correct placement and utility.

Success

Northstar's Medical Equipment Specialist integrated into the user team and led frequent equipment reviews on drawings and in the field to ensure this project opened on schedule and under budget. The equipment installation was fully integrated into, and was supported by, the construction and clinical teams. This included the implementation of coordinated patient life systems with transfer to toilet and shower.
